Broadening of product portfolio with cheese powder and grated cheese for the food industry
The family business Royal A-ware has acquired Prika, producer of raw materials for cheese. This acquisition will enable Royal A-ware to produce in-house cheese commodities such as cheese powder for customers in the food industry. Producing cheese powder is a natural extension to the range of services already provided by Royal A-ware, which specializes in the production, ageing, cutting and packaging of cheese and other fresh food products.
Raw materials of cheese tailored to meet customer needs
Royal A-ware wants to offer its customers a wide range of cheese and raw materials for cheese. Food Producers who process cheese powder or grated cheese in their products such as pizzas and snacks have specific wishes regarding, for example, workability and grain size, says CEO Jan Anker. “With the acquisition of Prika we are expanding our services even further and we can make cheese powder and grated cheese according to specific customer wishes.” The factory in Weert is equipped with modern machinery specially designed for the production of cheese powder, grated cheese and cheese cubes for the food industry. In the coming months the management of Royal A-ware will examine how the Prika activities can be integrated into the company.
Premium Parmigiano Reggiano
In addition, at the end of 2016 Royal A-ware purchased the Italian producer of Parmigiano Reggiano “IL RE”. The cheese making facility is located in the mountains of Appennini, near the province of Reggio Emilia in Italy. The Parmigiano Reggiano cheese produced by this cheese maker belongs to the premium segment and is made in accordance with the guidelines of “Denominazione di Origine Protetta”, abbreviated as DOP in Italian (BOB in Dutch), which means Protected Designation of Origin. CEO Jan Anker: “I am proud that this acquisition will allow us to offer our customers a fantastic piece of Parmigiano Reggiano made according to traditional recipes.”
