We are constantly striving to make our supply chains more sustainable. And so we are working with our dairy farmers towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions. One way to reduce greenhouse gases is by capturing carbon in the soil. This video shows you how this is done, and why we need to look after our beautiful meadows!

Royal A-ware produces the second-best cheese in the world

At the World Championship Cheese Contest in Wisconsin (United States), a remarkable four cheeses from Royal A-ware received awards. Additionally, one of the cheeses achieved an overall prize. Artikaas Vintage Lot 18, the entry from Dutch Cheese Makers, a subsidiary of Royal A-ware, won the overall second prize. Artikaas Vintage is thus the second-best cheese in the world. This Gouda cheese is produced at the Royal A-ware cheese factory in Heerenveen.

On 30 October 2023, French agency Alital became part of Royal A-ware. Founded in 2006, Alital has been responsible for a large part of our sales activities in France for many years, especially in food service and industry.

First cheese from the most modern dairy factory in Estonia

The very first cheddar cheese has been produced in the new dairy factory in Estonia. In 2021, E-Piim, Royal A-ware and Interfood Group joined forces to establish this ultra-modern dairy factory. Royal A-ware is responsible for the sale of cheese from this factory.

Royal A-ware books turnover of EUR 3.2 billion in 2022

In 2022, Royal A-ware achieved a net group result of EUR 72 million with a turnover of EUR 3.2 billion. Compared to 2021, turnover grew by EUR 1.0 billion.

Royal A-ware acquires Spanish dairy factory from Danone

The Dutch family business Royal A-ware acquires the dairy factory in Salas, Spain, from dairy producer Danone. In the factory Danone used to produce fresh cheese, desserts and cheese flan. Royal A-ware plans to invest in the factory to make it more sustainable and future-proof. In Salas, A-ware will start producing mozzarella from cow's milk from 2024.
