Sustainable entrepreneurship in the chain

As a family business, we think not in terms of years, but in terms of generations. With a clear vision and strategy, we create and manage efficient supply chains from consumer to cow. Our sustainability strategy focuses on producing dairy products with the highest possible nutritional value and on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, the careful use of raw materials, circularity, animal welfare and biodiversity. We organise our supply chains in such a way that we can work towards these goals whilst remaining a healthy family business. Our guiding principle is that all links in the chain should benefit in the long term.

  • Dairy farmers can continue to farm
  • Customers can choose from products where we are specifically working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and use raw materials and packaging more efficiently
  • Employees feel at home and have opportunities for personal development

Targeted steps

We are taking targeted steps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in our supply chain, increase circularity, and support biodiversity and animal welfare in dairy farming. We have divided these steps into six pillars. Four of these – greenhouse gases, product, raw materials and dairy farming – are closely aligned with the links in our supply chain. The other two pillars – staff and respectful collaboration – form the foundation and are essential for making our supply chains more efficient and for working in a targeted manner to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, ensure the careful use of raw materials and promote biodiversity.

We are working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across our supply chain in line with our SBTi-validated emission reduction targets.

Our climate goals

Our emissions targets have been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), confirming that they contribute to the Paris Agreement. We are the first Dutch family-owned dairy company to have our emissions targets scientifically and independently verified. This is an important endorsement for us and our customers! Our targets for 2030 at a glance:

  • 80.0%* reduction in absolute greenhouse gas emissions in Scopes 1 and 2
  • 100% use of renewable electricity
  • 51.6%* reduction in Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions per tonne of product sold
  • 41.0%* reduction in Scope 3 FLAG greenhouse gas emissions per tonne of raw milk
    * compared with the base year 2021

Transparent reporting in accordance with the CSRD

Reliability and transparency are essential to us. In our 2025 annual report, we outline the financial results for the past year as well as the progress we have made in the area of sustainability. With our 2024 report, we were the first dairy producer in the Netherlands to have an auditor’s report on our sustainability reporting in accordance with the new European directives (CSRD). Something to be proud of!
