Royal A-ware announces the proposed acquisition of LaBan Foods. The acquisition is in line with the international family-owned company’s strategy to further expand its product portfolio in order to serve its customers even better.

With this proposed acquisition, the international family-owned company is continuing its strategy of further diversification and expanding its product portfolio to include butter (specialities). ‘With LaBan Foods, we are bringing specialist knowledge and a distinctive range of butter products in-house, enabling us to serve our customers even better and more comprehensively,’ said Jan Anker, Chairman of the Board at Royal A-ware.

René Laban, CEO of LaBan Foods, sees many opportunities to realise LaBan Foods’ growth ambitions: ‘Through the proposed acquisition, we will become part of a major international player in the dairy market, enabling us to focus more on product innovation and to grow both in terms of product range and volume’. Karel van Driel, managing director of LaBan Foods, is also delighted that the company is set to become part of Royal A-ware: ‘To take the next step as a company, scale is essential. Under the umbrella of Royal A-ware, we can certainly take this step’.

The proposed acquisition is subject to approval by the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) and has already been notified to the authority.
