International dairy producer Royal A-ware has today published its 2025 Annual Report. In a year characterised by volatility in the dairy market, the family-owned business demonstrates that it continues to invest in future-proof and increasingly sustainable supply chains.
Resilience in challenging circumstances
Although 2025 was a challenging year, with falling margins and price pressure in the second half of the year, Royal A-ware’s business models proved robust. The company achieved revenue growth of 16% to €4.4 billion (2024: €3.8 billion), partly thanks to higher dairy prices and the acquisition of the Belgian Dairy Food Group. Net profit stood at €43.8 million, lower than in 2024, partly due to one-off restructuring costs and market conditions. ‘Although 2025 was a challenging year, we have demonstrated our resilience,’ says Jan Anker, Chairman of the Board of Royal A-ware. ‘As a demand-driven organisation, we have continued to invest across our entire chain – from consumer to cow – because we are convinced that this forms the basis for long-term sustainable growth.’
Investing in the future
Futureproofing is the central theme of the annual report. In 2025, Royal A-ware invested in, among other things, the construction of a new mozzarella factory in Spain, the further integration of the Belgian Dairy Food Group, and initiatives aimed at CO₂ reduction and more efficient energy use. This is in line with the aim of producing dairy products with the highest possible nutritional value and the lowest possible impact on people, animals and the environment. The guiding principle is that all links in the chain should benefit in the long term.
Focus on employees and dairy farmers
Royal A-ware emphasises that futureproofing is not just about technology and infrastructure, but above all about people. In 2025, significant investment was made in the development, safety and employability of staff. The number of permanent employees grew to over 5,300 worldwide.
Close collaboration with dairy farmers also remains essential. The company now works with over 1,700 dairy farmers in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Spain and Italy. Through knowledge sharing, innovation programmes and sustainability initiatives focused on biodiversity and animal welfare, dairy farmers are supported in making their farms increasingly future proof.
Outlook for 2026
Royal A-ware expects to continue with its current strategy in 2026. The focus will be on expanding its international commercial activities, optimising its internal logistics chains and making further investments in production capacity both in the Netherlands and abroad.
