A solid basis for further development in Belgium.

The official transfer of FrieslandCampina's milk powder activities to Royal A-ware took place in Aalter, Belgium, on Tuesday, November 2nd. The 40 employees directly involved have joined Royal A-ware. A substantial number of investments will be made in the coming period to upgrade existing facilities and expand production capacity. The product range will be expanded step by step.

Milk has already been collected from Flemish suppliers since the 1st of July. New dairy farmers are joining every month. 'We are happy that, after a long preparation, we can now finally start. The knowledge and experience of the employees in Aalter and the availability of high-quality milk in the Flanders region together form an excellent basis for setting up a successful chain together with our customers. To achieve further growth, we are still looking for enterprising dairy farmers in Flanders who want to work with us for the long term, says Robert van Ballegooijen, COO Royal A-ware.

To steer the expansion of the activities in Belgium in the right direction, Luc Lamberigts was appointed Managing Director A-ware Belgium on November 1st. 'I am looking forward to working with the team in Aalter on this new product category for Royal A-ware, which will make an important contribution to the future growth of this wonderful family business. My experience in the dairy sector, both in production and commercially, will certainly help me in this matter.

Arnoud van den Berg (President FrieslandCampina Trading) and Robert van Ballegooijen (COO Royal A-ware) raise the A-ware flag at the plant in Aalter.
